Éric Génovèse Biography

Eric Génovèse graduated from the Paris National Conservatory for Drama. He simultaneously leads three different careers, as an actor in theatre, as a narrator in musical pieces, and as a stage director both for theatre and opera.   Eric Génovèse did his first theatre staging in 2001 at Le Théâtre du Marais, Les Juives by Robert Garnier. He staged Le Privilège des Chemins by Fernando Pessoa at la Comédie-Française (in collaboration with the IRCAM).

In 2012 he staged Erzulie Dahomey by Jean-René Lemoine. On the operatic field, he first staged Rigoletto at the Bordeaux Opera in 2007 where he was invited back to stage Die Schule der Frauen by Rolph Liebermann. He staged Cosí fan Tutte at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris (revival in 2012), and made his debut at the Vienna State Opera with Donizetti’s Anna Bolena (Netrebko, Garanca, D’Arcangelo, conducted by Evelino Pidò – DVD).

Eric Génovèse was made Chevalier dans l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres.
