In its second weekend, "Fast & Furious" spinoff "Hobbs & Shaw” maintained its reign at the domestic box office, beating out several new films.

The action sequel, which stars Vanessa Kirby, collected $25.4 million during its second weekend of release. That's a 58% decline from its first weekend, a similar drop to other films in the franchise. After nine days in theaters, "Hobbs & Shaw" has earned $108 million in North America and $224 million overseas

In second, place, just barely edging out "Guillermo del Toro, debuted at No. 2 with a strong $20.8 million from 3,135 theaters. Audiences gave it a "C" CinemaScore.

Another new movie vying for kids' attention was "Dora and the Lost City of Gold,” the live-action adaptation of the animated kids TV show "Dora the Explorer." It debuted with $17 million from 3,735 screens, a not-so-great start for a film that cost nearly $50 million. It earned an "A" CinemaScore.

Bad news for The Happytime Murders," which bowed last summer with $9.5 million.

The production, whose premise of gangsters' wives taking over their dead husbands' life of crime, might have been too similar to last year's "Elisabeth Moss.

Meanwhile, tearjerker "Kevin Costner voicing his dog, Enzo.

Another new release, "Bring the Soul: The Movie," a documentary about K-pop sensation BTS, cracked the top 10, with $2.3 million from 873 locations.
