Hudson has done a variety of films over the years. Her most recent credits include the 2017 biopic "Marshall," the 2016 disaster film "Deepwater Horizon," and the 2016 rom-com "Mother's Day." In ing "Blood Moon," she's adding another interesting project to her list.

Meanwhile, Amirpour has directed two other features films, 2014's "The Bad Batch." The former was particularly well received and has a 96 percent rating on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer. Now, she's attracted a lot of talent for "Blood Moon," which seems to bode well for the movie.

Production will reportedly kick off in spring 2019.
