Live-Action 'Tom and Jerry' and Animated 'Scooby Doo' Movies Coming Soon

A live-action hybrid "Tom and Jerry" movie is in the works at Warner Bros., with Shaft") in talks to direct.
Harry Potter" movies -- has jumped on board as a creative producer.
Warner Animation Group is reportedly aiming for a balance of animation and live-action hybrid movies, with several versions of both in the works.
"Wile E. Coyote vs. ACME" are two other hybrids currently in development. Variety said "Tom and Jerry" is expected to be the first such hybrid to film in 2019. According to their report...
"For that film, the plan is to shoot in the real world with animated versions of the familiar cat and mouse duo. Sources also say that since Tom and Jerry didn’t speak and relied on physical comedy to draw laughs, this version will stick to that style and not cast actors to voice the duo. That decision should also help add to the international appeal of the film."
In of the animated Scooby-Doo movie, Variety said that one is expected to release in the first quarter of 2020. Chris Columbus will be producing alongside director Tony Cervone.
The Scooby gang was last seen on screen in the 2004 live-action hybrid "first cut for that was edgier and rated R.)
Other WB animated features still in development include "Jetsons," "Flintstones” and "Wacky Races" movies.
