South Korean auteur "Parasite."

Neon has dropped the first trailer for the film, which centers on two families — the aspirational Kims and the wealthy Parks. The two houses are brought together when the Kims' son becomes tutor the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms, where the Kims provide all sorts of services while the Parks bankroll their household.

But then, a "parasitic interloper" threatens the Kims’ sweet deal and a savage, underhanded battle for dominance breaks out.

With films like "Snowpiercer," Bong has already established a reputation as an inventive, experimental director who mashes up genres into strange, emotionally resonant tableaus.

"Parasite" opens in theaters October 11.
