Season 4 - 1960's Plot
The fourth series focused on the 1960s (1962 to 1969 only) and first aired on Friday nights from 10 September to 29 October 2004. It features neither 1960 nor 1961 as these pre-date the official launch of Telefís Éireann, the television arm of the national broadcaster. It was felt, presumably, that there would be too little archive material from which to make an engaging programme about these years. Indeed, the episodes covering the first half of the 1960s are characterised by extensive use of photographs and posters, as opposed to film and video footage, to represent various historical events.

1. 1962
In the first programme of the new series, a look back at 1962 when the Beatles had their first hit, Sean Connery played James Bond, and the Cuban Missile Crisis brought the world close to nuclear war. 3. 1964
In this edition, a look back at 1964 when Lyndon Johnson won a landslide victory in the US, Cassius Clay became Muhammad Ali and World Champion, and fighting in Vietnam began in earnest. Closer to home, in the UK a series of riots broke out in southern England and in Ireland the stars for the 1964 Jacob's TV awards were announced and Gay Byrne and Kathleen Watkins marry. 4. 1965
In 1965, Taoiseach Sean Lemass travelled to Belfast to meet Northern Ireland's Prime Minister Terence O'Neill and O'Neill made a return visit to Dublin. The Russians carried out a successful space walk, and in Alabama civil rights demonstrators were attacked when they staged a Freedom March.
